HTML coding in clan news

Is disabled here but allowed in original QM code. Any particular reason for that?
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Yes, security considerations. Just as in these forums.

If someone put HTML in the clan news, it would be possible to steal logins and passwords for all clan members when they log in, and since you can hide it nicely, nobody would need to be the wiser until someone edits the MOTD.

It is a generally accepted principle that a web site you not blindly echo back data that users gave it, precisely because of this type of risk.
