ADMISISTRATIVE: BFR Hit Limit Proposal
look, hit limits are designed and whined for by the clanless who can romp across the board and hit, hit, hit and then when its thier turn to get it back, they whine and complain of hit limits boo freakin hoo. (at least that has been my experience)
If you want hit limits, then i say put it in the freakin code.

As Rudder said in a convo I recently had, it promotes a kill-happy server. An increase to 31 max attacks will allow land to be moved around more freely, without making kills really easy to do.Slasher wrote: Bring the "Declare war" feature back!

i do think that thier is a slight disadvantage and loophole that non-clannies exploit and that is that they can hit all other empires to the max and then hold the land as long as they hold out thier hit limit.
if we had the whole declare war, that would even it up somewhat, but the personal war would be far greater to counter act this.

Personal war is bad for several reasons.
1: Unlimited personal war promotes kill happiness, and allows unclanned empires to be killed. I'm sure nobody wants that.
2: Limited personal wars have their own problems. For example, if you declare war on one person, you only get the benefit of a higher hit limit against that person. It's not designed to allow land to move, it's designed to allow people to smack each other.
Further, if more then one personal war is allowed against a given empire, it makes it likely that that empire can actually be killed. Not by one person, but by, say, 4 people all taking a bit out of their run. If there are a limited number of PW that can be set against a certain person, we have the problem of PW maxing - people declaring war on an ally so nobody else can.
3: There's really no need for personal war. The desired benefits (land movement) can be achieved quite easily by raising the max hits, from 21 to 31. People won't be able to scrape land any more effectively, since 21 hits is enough when the target only has a medium amount of land. However, once one person has massed up a ton of land (like Arthus has done recently), more hits make it easier to get that land.

Kraken... This is reffering to the coded hit limit when war is not declared. This is not something you can choose to obey; this is the maximum number of recent attacks allowed by the game. From what you are saying, it sounds like you'd want the coded limit increased. This isn't something like magical WoA land, where we have/had happy happy a 7-hit "courtesy" limit. Just a little bit of information, for those interested and who did not know - your recent attacks # goes down by two each time you attack someone, and down by one every hour.

Just a thought, Valhall has a somewhat unique hit limit system. The hit limit is 25+5 per hour, but the trick about it is that it can go all the way up to 50 depending on how much the empire has attacked recently. Each hour it goes closer to 25, whether that's up or down.
Empire A breaks protection and attacks 10 times and logs off. Those 10 attacks each increases his hit limit by 2, thereby raising his hit limit to 45. 2 Hours later his hit limit is down to 35. Empire B hits him 20 times dropping his hit limit to 15, then 3 hours later it's back up to 25 again.
25+5 may not be the best thing for a playerbase of this size, but the general concept is the same. Whatever you do, just please don't let it only refresh 1 hit pr hour.
