So. We all know about that gal I married on Maple. I'm sure you've all wondered what was the driving force that would compel me to even do such a frightening thing. I'll explain.

When I first really got to know Orin, it was kinda just like the way I talk to any of you guys. Pretty casual and relaxed. I'm pretty much me online the same way I'm me at home here. Anyway, she and I really talked alot. Not sure why, but she was just cool to talk to and all. Anyway, we grew on each other and I dunno. I can't really say that anything was the catalyst for what happened, but meh.

Atleast we were both highly apprehensive of it, and realized it was really stupid, so thats a plus. Now its to the point where we call and such.

I sorta felt bad that we're so far away. Kansas City to Kalamazoo... (Yes, there really is one :D ) and the fact that'd we'd never meet was sorta lame. Though... The only reason I decided to actually go visit is... weird fateish. O_o

IE. When my parents broke up, I lived with my Dad and not my mom. My mother, meet a dude after the diverse online that lived in Kansas City. Anyway, Apparently, the girl that I met on Maple out of millions of people happened to live next door to the guy that my mom visited in KC once a month. So my Mom actually knows her...

Yeah... Just to make sure, I had the one family member go take some pictures of her house and her. Kinda like a stalk thing, except that I don't feel like dying. xD But they came back as authentic. I really can't say that I'm nervous. I've meet like 6 of her friends, and they all seem to say the same thing. IF it was a lie or something bad, their doing one hell of a job maintaining it. Thats for sure.

Anyway... I just bought my tickets today. Leaving May 21st at 9:30ish and returning May 24 around 9pm.

So, What do you guys think?

Are you insured? Is FAF mentioned in your policy?

:P Anyway, have fun, of course. Tell us all about it -- in a condensed sort of way without any soppy bits.

Well... be careful. But I shouldn't think it's a big concern. Normally you don't hear about girls attacking guys they meet online, usually the other way around. Plus... You sound like the type that can take care of yourself if it is something sinister.

And like Beatles said, put FAF in your will/insurance policy. ;)

all about FAVRE, come on...you know you want to click it

..."I'm sorry, but I really can't see anything redeeming in your philosophy other than that dinosaurs are cute."

The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

Heh, Freen's an adult, I'm sure he can handle himself. :P

Still, I voted "Uh... Okay?" ;)

[edit]

Well, I don't know what "adult" is in the US... Age of Majority is 18 or 19? Drinking age is 21 or some such thing? Anyway, in Canada, "adult" (including being able to enter into a legally binding contract on your own, voting, drinking, smoking, etc.) is 18 or 19, depending on province... (19 here in BC, although federal voting age is 18) By either standard, Freen is one.

I got dibs on your Nintendo Wii when you get whacked.

Personal opinion: You already bought the tickets so wth, why not? If you live it'll be a good learning experience experience for ya. My one word of caution, other than the obvious, is to not expect too much out of it. So much changes from over the internet to in-person that it can turn out to be an uncomfortable experience if you let it, and having high hopes is a good way to let it.
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Ah...Yeah. I know that for the most part. >_<

I'll post a will so all this non-sense stops. :D

Yes, Rudder, but she might be a 50-year old man in his underwear or something. There was a webcomic about that once but anyway it's fairly common.

Then again he *has* had her scouted out, so no major worries there.

or she could be a 50 year old stark naked man. forget the underwear
some town or another was having a problem with one of their senior citicens exposing himself on a regular basis (at windows and such, not streaking)

and 'scouted' as in had her stalked..

also, how does she know you're not a 50 year old nekkid guy freen?
did she have you stalk'd too?

As long as he's careful, I imagine that Freen would be safe, even if it is a 50 year old man... He's not a young teenage girl or boy (the usual targets?) and I'm sure he can handle himself if some old man comes on to him. :P

Now, the problems arise if its a 500-pound prison inmate named Bubba who wants you to drop the soap....
