Don't bother trying to figure out any details, but I saw a screeny of an im in which a FAF admin suggested that he could use his admin account in a method that would help give another player an unfair advantage. A friend sent it to me and told me he was washing his hands of it, I could do with it as I wished. So I promptly blackmailed the admin. ;)

JK about the blackmail part, but I never reported it because it appeared to me to be an isolated incident.

Point of this revelation is not to stir anything up (which it has the potential to do, even if it is suppressed) but to point out just how difficult it is to have an admin who is completely honest. Be very, very, very selective and go into it knowing that even a miniscule amount of power as admining an online text based game can be corrupting.
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

To abuse an admin account would just be stupid... Unless of corse, there was a bug that had been fixed and it needed testing or something like that.

I have never used admin powers to cheat on this game. Where's the honor in that? I prefer to win through my own skill. Maybe I'm just a rare fellow though.

I'd agree there. If you can't win on your own skill in some fashion, what's the point of winning? It's like winning a fencing match by kicking your opponent in the groin - all you've proved is that you cheat.

Of course, we do like to joke about the whole "corrupt admin" thing... Nuke, you're sure that comment was serious, not joking?

Saw something similar once. Except the guy who was gonna get hit, dodged, grabbed the guys leg, and then kicked him there. Best fight ever.

Hehe....... fencing reference.

Actually, you don't really need to kick the groin area, you can just target it with your weapon. ;) It's actually valid target in foil (one of the three weapons).

But, yeah, fencers in competition are SUPPOSED to wear chest protectors (female) and athletic support (male). So, it shouldn't work anyway. :P

And, indeed, cheating is silly. I used the admin account to prank one of my fellow admins on Ragnarok, but that was it. :P I wouldn't cheat in a serious environment... It's just low.

No, apparently he didn't cheat, but Josh said to me on AIM that he hacked the server to get troops on the market for sh0e to buy off him.
