I'm not part of the FAF Staff, but I will answer this anyways.

We are trying to discourage market storing across the board... So, no. At least not for that reason. Though, perhaps someday we could set up some odd system involving floating currencies and the like.... Then "selling money" might have some real meaning. But that's a long ways off...

Nev... I really don't know if anyone would want a currency system that complicated. I don't play promi for a realistic currency system, I play it for a chance to make lots of net and hammer people, with a good bit of teamwork and diplomacy thrown in.
So, yeah. No cash storing beyond what there is.

Strategic depth... It's something that is generally lacking from prominance games... Though a floating currency system would make so many things so confusing. Not even my beloved Railroad Tycoon II or Capitalism II attempted to really model the floating currencies. So, meh...
Instead of an arbitrary stock market, perhaps a player backed bond system for storage?

No. The Bank will be nerfed so cash slowly leaks out ove r time. So thats not nessisary, and market storing will be completely gone.

He is right, market storing is generally bad for the game. It's almost an unlimited free lunch. No upkeep on the stuff on the market, no chance of it being destroyed/captured, no time to recall the stuff and redeploy it to do something useful for your warband. On top of that, this function isn't completely obvious... Newbies likely wouldn't think of market storing, not so much out of a lack of skill, but simply not knowing about it. Think about it... Storing stuff in a market? What sense does that make?
I would rather we trade convince of access for rate of return and safety. Perhaps instead of a bank, have bonds, which pay nothing until maturity. The only way to get your money out of a bond would then be to sell it to another player...
Darn... I really should code that up.
Good heavens, no. The bank is already such a small part of your networth, and it already downscales when that networth goes down. Additionally, it's function is completely obvious and well documented. It provides no unfair advantage to anyone. The Bank will be nerfed so cash slowly leaks out ove r time.

The bank here is the most abusable Promisance feature I have ever seen, aside from warehouses at ME. You could just stuff the bitch all set and have perfectly safe cash. The change might actually get me to play here.

Nev - bank hasn't lost cash due to max balance being lower than current balance for a long time. That's a rather annoying thing - a bug, really - and it was removed eons ago. However, as it is now, with PM sell going into bank, you can stuff cash into it all set, like Death said. Japan and I did that one set.
