Clan Treasury: slight modifications

The idea is that while the playerbase seems to agree that the clan CT is working as intended, some believe it gives an unfair advantage. Regardless of whether you agree with this stance, this topic is for discussing any potential tweaks that parties on both sides of this fence could agree on. So if you have proposals from the other topic, you can post and debate them here. If we agree on something, I'll make a poll on it, or if I think it's of minor impact, we can go right ahead and implement it (or rather, put it on some helpless developer's plate).

I am for a limitaion of the treasury

Presently a mage can produce enough resources to run a couple clans,
a clan game is all about clan, and how to get your clan in 1st place, isn’t it!

Every day from each mage run, and now with every farm run.
I stuff all my production into the treasury, and then let my clan draw out a percentage each.
The amount drawn was only what they needed for their runs.
Some NEVER took a draw…!

Simplified a typical draw was no more then 20-30% of either cash, food, or scrolls.
Then they must deposit what they didn’t use, to protect it from bez or mages attacks.

Was it wrong for our clan to use the treasury that way: NO
I think we used it in the spirit it was created.
Was it conducive to elevating my clan: NO
but makes for more productive runs.
Did it hurt any players or the game: NO
unless you count enabling.

I like the idea that a limit could prevent the treasury from becoming a contention between users.
It was a constant fear with my leads, that the treasury could be abused with members we didn’t know in an Open Clan.
One can be the teacher of good use of the treasury
or one can be the teacher of abuse, it’s a path all must take 'Grasshoppers'

This thread is to determine if a problem existed with the treasuries current configuration.

I find that a governor should be in place to protect the treasury from a real spy,
like in ‘A tail of 2 clans’, where I infiltrated the enemy clan, only to destroy it.
I was successful in my espionage, a person could do exactly the same thing with
the treasury, if a size and time limitation was used then the treasury would be
protected from abuse by a clan mate.

Yeah I know, if they abuse the treasury just kill them, but what about after they
abuse it, ‘after’ is a little late to be concerned don’t-cha think.
The clan still has to replace the losses. And the spy could very well send it to
another clan and delete themselves..! Or join the other clan claiming small victory,
nice if you want to induce war.
I am for some control over the treasury, not just an opening for the transferee of untold fortunes into another account.

Uh.... Theres a clan feature already where the leader can pick who gets treasury access. Most likely, you never set people so they could access the treasury, so they never took stuff out.

Also, mages are going to be corrected next month (May). So there won't be a crazy cash problem going on anymore.

I believe there needs to be a slight limitation, but nothing much overall.

If you shared you gained treasury access, which was the only other stipulation.
its to bad the mage has to be emasculated, and its to bad there isn’t a 'clan only' game out there.
Every one wants the option to run solo in a game mostly created for the purpose of teamwork.
The solution all along was to remove the solo and no one can seem to see that, and a limitation on all races has been the result.
I say yes limit the treasury withdraw, if all other items in the game are 'nerfed' as they say, just a nice word for emasculated.
Limit the size of the draw to represent your size of the war band.
But its just splitting apples and oranges, clanning is the problem is just force clans every month not just in march!

Its always been the solo that has nerfed the game, not the other way around, some misguided attempt to protect the individual players ability to play alone!

With all the races original powers still intact 'clan comp' goes off nicely; why, because you cannot play alone!
The answer my friend is forcing in the clan!

Nev is not an officer of KoH, but can and has used the treasury.

No? FAF's mage is approaching twice as powerful as RWL's mage... and people complain that mages at RWL have it too easy ('s actually a little better now...)

Geh. I've played solo and done alright. The ~21x attack limit really helps.

If personal war is brought back... eh. Not as much advantage to solo.

I just thought of something that I feel I should point out. It's 5am so posts are running together, but I recall the CT withdrawal nerf by networth being what people are going for, but how does that make sense on a game where you can let anyone be able to send it?

Mind you, even if it doesn't work now, it should and I'm sure eventually will be fixed.

I don't understand. What's wrong with anyone being able to put in, but only the high-networth ones being able to remove, and if they want to resend, there's always the nerfed aid to contend with.i

Re-pete:
The Clan Completion game on Valhall runs smoothly with out any solo players
They do not seem to have a problem with any one running away with the game.

However, I am not a beta/chronic user so I do not know all the holes in the game, hint, hint, point, point!
It still strikes me as odd, how the beta/chronic users;
Ones who know the ins and outs of the game 'seem to NOT like' the way it is,
Seem to have the advantage over the none beta/chronic users,
Yet still they want the game nerfed.
If the clan treasury were nerfed to the beta/chronic user's present style of use
They would cry foul, though the average user MAY see it fair.

Key word here is MAY; I am for restrictions to all users of the treasury, not just a select few. All clan members should have a restriction from CT abuse not only to protect the clan but also to protect the users who stock up their treasures.

Maybe a personal treasury that when defeated would go to the victor...?

But what I meant was, aren't clan leaders supposed to be able to give full CT access to anyone in the clan? If the suggestion that nobody has clearly explained about nerfing CT shipments based on networth were to go into effect, it could be completely dodged. Kinda like how clans abuse warslots to get an upper hand as far as getting land goes.

I hate say this TS but this statement seems like its made by someone who doesnt feel that they are capable of running as a solo. from what i seen since i been here is its possible for a good soloist to attain top spot and as the last set showed a good clan strat can also achieve the same.


As for the CT yes it can be abused by someone doing as you did last set but i really cant see anyway of that not happening anyay even with a limitation put in place

I dont see how we abused the CT, our clan cranked up the war banner and stomped on anything that passed in front of our volly.
We attacked the whole score board, whats abuse about funding a server war?

the CT may be abused but not by WoA clan, if you looked inside the WoA caln treasury, you would see its not even half full, as a matter of fact it is nearly used up.
Since I left the clan Dynasty hasnt been able to fund it the same as I.
he is a 'noob mage' and doesnt know the ratio, well not until today when I explaned how to find the ratio of mage / tower in any game.

The CT may have been abused, but things seemed to have fallen off, since this topic came about....!

lol a year ago i was n00b but saying that i must of been doing something right to consisting be finishing in top 5 wether i be clanned or solo running as for the last set i would hardly call shadow or me n00bs. and as for this set for once i decided to do something different and just supply my clan m8s with what they need rather then trying to get anywhere myself

Well-done maddog it’s about time some one else did what I have always done, is your clan all noobs as well, or are they somewhat experienced?
peeps have no idea what goes on in my clan, but speculate anyhow, just because I don’t place, doesn’t mean I don’t know how to play.
I have been a game site admin for a long time, and have always played for the benefit of others, even when I am a player and not admin’ing, I use my skills to supply others with needed resources, so that they could spend what turns they had.
Some have gone on to be great players and some faded unto the fray.
I still play my mage and send my resources out to peeps I don’t even know, you would never guess that only a few ‘very few’ have ever thanked me. I would imagine some don’t speak English or they where afraid to PM me for reasons I wont go into, suffice to say a welcome mat has never been laid out for them.

As for the CT ‘CLAN TREASURY’ what this thread is all about, I think it is abused and should go under the Beatles knife
He has given us a wonderful insight into his game creating skillz and we should listen to what he has to say, he can tell us what will work and what is foo-doo!

I think the treasury should dole out supplies in relationship to your needs; a mandatory clan tax would assure there was always some thing in the treasury even if they never used it.
If the treasury was restricted, as to the amount you could remove, then when some one came to withdraw, others could be assured there was a little somtin somtin for them too, instead of empty all the time…

I don’t want to debate skillz or the fervor of my gamming intentions, but would love to directly discuss the merits of the CT and how it should be properly used……..
