Looks like I'll be playing clanned this set. Like that matters, I rarely make use of clan dynamics. I haven't used a CT or the like in ages, playing solo is too much fun.

Yes. A full run is around 32,000 acres if done properly.

Its not terribly hard per se. Essentially, just convert most of your buildings to mage huts. Then make sure you have the runes to do it. It'll most likely take you two runs to build up the ratio, but then just hawk scout the entire second run. Depending on your finances, you might made 250 missions.

Its hard to do it under 30,000 land. You usually need around 50,000 before you can hawk stuff up like that.
