Same as I did with Helm, I will not alter the characters #'s. This would alter the heart and soul of the character.

To keep things simple for me disguard any weapons/armor/items that do not fit into this storyline. Try to remember there will be some items we will run into that are simply amazing.

(OOC: Dammit, I hate not getting a chance to react.
Sorry, I should be more specific when I do that. There were several charm spells cast in the post to which you are referring. That would explain the several seasoned warriors that were staring 'ga-ga-eyed' at a silly light when Helm walked up.

I did not intend to take control of your character, I merely assumed he would grab for his sword in a situation like that. The charm spell did the rest.

I need those saving throws so I can be more accurate about this, but Jurt is such a high-level character I assumed any spell he cast would not have trouble affecting any of us.

Again, sorry for the miscommunication...in the future, I will include parenthetic info as to what spells are affecting you. That way you can write your posts accordingly.

I've forgotten how saving throws work in aD&D, I'll get you the stat for it. If it's like 3.0 saving throws, than he'll likely be affected, if it's like Basic D&D saving throws, he probably won't be he has very very GOOD saving throws in the basic D&D system.

Helm's first reaction at meeting a new person, not necessarily threatening is not to grab his sword. It's Ok that he did, but yes, in the future, more precise info on what's going on will be useful for crafting an appropriate reaction. Thanks.

I was accounting for the strange behavior of his comrades...charms are usually alot more pronounced than I made this one sound. I was tired yesterday, what can I say? lol

sorry... I was expecting more from her, like torching the gathering or making them kill them selves for her, but thats another thread lol.
She fooled even me when it finally got posted, I figured maybe some battle and then a pause when she entered the grassy clearing, all glowing and white in a darkened foresty setting.

LoL She made helm have parchment, quill and ink, hope you don't mind Gen. Volkov......... hehe
When I read your posts on Friday, I knew she walked into the gathering but didn't know what she did, until I was driving through the mountain pass on Sunday night/Monday morning at 1 am in cooper landing. suddenly it hit me, I started shouting holy crap, you can ask my wife.

it was an apostrophe No Schmeeee....Thats Epiphany not apostrophe grumble grumble........

so about this other passage?

Gen. Volkov think you can expand on the other way through, using YOUR new map!
your parchment your map.....!

These two persona's are antique, they hail from a module I created for super advanced players in 1980-83, tackling monsters with thousands of hit points. we had created a whole world using typewriters and ink, not days, not weeks, not months, this was years of nothing to do and long dark winters. (roll up the dogs in the city and type them out, horses, large birds ect, ect.)I haven't thought of running these two again, as they are all that has survived and we have moved so into the digital world, I am glad to see at least a slightly lowered version of her still exists. the module was called caverns and cave dwellers and the planes of the flying city. but as I have played thousands of games, I found that some characters do more than you would expect. sometimes they even surprise you with what they do, after playing for days at a time of course.
So you could say with my schedule, it is as if I had been playing for days.

Great, except Helm is illiterate. It's a drawback to being a barbarian. He wouldn't have actually had a parchment or quill and ink.

Perhaps you could borrow the parchment from Timon or D'argash...both are highly intelligent and literate. Timon would be the most likely to have parchment, though.

Hmmmm...maybe we need to run into a scribe (although Timon hates Clerics). We'll see.

LOL. Nope, Helm can speak several different languages, but reading is not possible for him. Well, unless someone wants to try and teach him. Don't think they'll succeed though. He's not stupid, he's just very stubborn, and doesn't have any desire to learn how to read. Thinks of it as something effeminate city dwellers do. He's never had to read before anyway, there's always been someone else in the groups he travels with to do it for him.
