Makes me wish I had had some stock. Oh well, I just bought some. Maybe I'll be able to make some cash before the next reset. Which we're hoping will be more then a reset...

Buying at 100 and selling at 150 is a 50% gain.
Buying at 1000 and selling at 1050 is a 5% gain.
Lower the prices and gains will be more dramatic.
Since gains are usually from 5 to 10.

Halving the price is doubling the volatility on a certain set amount of investment.

EDIT: Unless it's percent based, and since you mention rounding, it probably is.

True. However the changes weren't /that/ radical.

In other news, and this is rather important, the stock chaos functions are fixed. Thus the average should be about ~100 (until now it was ~68) and the maximum, ~200 (until now it was ~137 I think).

Well, it was based on some chaos functions until now too, but the average and range were wrong, about 68.5 for average, and 137 for maximum. Now the average and range are about 100 and 200, respectively, which is correct. What's more, the setup script uses random values to seed the Bender function, so it will be different for each Promi game.
Although in its current implementation the admins /can/ forecast stocks. Hmm, should add that to the Manipulator.

I told it to buy a mil shares of Grain, and it bought 1 mil shares of Cordial
told it to buy 6 mil shares of Grain, and it bought 6 mil shares of Boats
then I refreashed the page where I bought 6 mil and it bought Grain

is that supposed to happen
