First of all I would like to introduce myself. I am headcheese from LO and play as Blazing Trials and DrunkenMaster on several proms.

We have a copy of your prom at LO and it has been an accusation from FaF members that it was stolen, I do not believe this as LO is an honorable site and I would bet that the code was used with permission. There seems to be some confusion with the code and especial the cheezy heal hero. Perhaps someone here can explain why it isn’t cheezy and how it is combated.

One other thing is an emp named Gondor. He pulled some real lame azz shiz joining a clan and dumping their CT and hitting all of them then deleting.. Its believed he is a local here, is that true?

Thanks,
HeadCheese

First off, gondor. He is a local, or was. We lynch mobbed him (as Zephyrus termed it) because he was a kill monger. But he has a history of doing stuff like this.

As far as I understand, we operate under an open sorce code. Therefore, if anyone wants to download a copy and set up their own game, they are free to do so. However, if any changes are minimal/noexistant, you are liable to be called a clone, simply referring to the fact that you are basicly identicle, and not in any way suggesting any illeagle activities.

As for Brome, the healer, I don't see why he would be "cheesy". He does make it easier to do a lot of attacking, but doesn't affect anything else, so it's not like he's totally over powered...

Thanks man, brom as far as our math can tell is capable of creating a run in which one empire can kill another that has over 80k land. The math speaks for itself and I will stand by the fact that it is cheezy.

Thanks for the info on Gondor

Possibly... But I've never seen it done. There are all sorts of things that have to go right, the attacker has to break every time. He has to take almost no turns to build, leaving him with a possible economy problem, as he gains troops, but not enough food and cash. He has to have runes to hawk heal. And, the defender cannot get on in the middle of the run.

Regarding Gondor see:
http://frostnflame.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=1191

From topics on LO I see there is confusion whether this gondor is the one from Valhall and QMT. He is definitely not from what I know.

Also, yes, LO and any other sites are free to use the code base as long as they make their modifications available and provide proper credit. From what I have seen, LO Prom is doing this and so I have no problems with it.

The Heal Hero is extremely powerful, no questions about it and many admins/members are of the opinion that it is indeed way too easy to kill. We're currently trying to deal with that problem. I will be interested to see how and if LO Promisance deals with this facet of game play.

Some of the names of things on LO promisance seem to be remnants from FAF and don't fit with the type of game there. We have strived to make the names of units, buildings, and pages as easy to change as possible and would value feedback and suggestions the LO developers might offer on how to improve the ease of use for admins. While I can't gurantee we can do everything (many of our developers are quite busy at this point), we would like to improve the codebase where possible.

Also, welcome! More competition is always good :*laughs*:

Hum, have you guys fixed the 2% health attacks? That could account for the massive attacks.

An interesting point is that, dislike Wolf Bite as much as I will, he has done much to herd the unruly bunch at RWL into a more respectable community. Iron fist in a velvet glove you might say.

2% health attacks? I don't think there ever were any. With Brome, you heal 2% every turn, but you still lose 4% health every turn. (Attack takes 8% health, you normally heal 2% in 2 turns, now you heal 4%, net health loss of 4%)

Fixing the No attacks under 20% issue was one of the very first things we fixed in Warbands, back a few years ago.

The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

The healing hero is available to everyone, and since there's a heal function and spell there, he's not that much of an addition. Want to call it cheesy? You've got a point. But there are ways to make Martin just as much so.

Welcome Headcheese. I'm hoping you find your stay at FAF fun (and hoping you stay here for a while). As I have never used Brome (or many of the Heroes for that matter), I cannot say that one person can/can't kill someone with 80K land. What I can say is it would be very difficult.

The 80k land person is killed with the assumption he cannot defend. In reality, it takes quite a bit just to prepare. And, read the staff forum for details on how to abuse Martin. Though we might be angry at you for actually trying it.

It also depends largely on how many turns max turns are. If it's 500, then you've got a problem in and of itself.
Zephyrus, can you PM me the link to that?

You wrote it yourself, and dismissed it as useless. And while it probably is...
