Hello folks,
The FAF chat is back! This means that now you can chat either on the game-wide chat, the server-specific chat for BFR/WOA/Duels/etc. or even in your own private clan chat, which is automatically set up for each clan.
The chat needs nothing beyond a modern browser on any OS and is realtime in both directions, so you should experience it to be light and fast.
Some users have reported seeing a 'hacking attempt' warning when trying to log in. Don't worry, just reload the page and you should be fine.
Happy chatting/planning,
~Beatles

We tested the (Profanity is a sign of Maturity) out of that (Profanity is a sign of Maturity) piece of (Profanity is a sign of Maturity) word (Profanity is a sign of Maturity) filter and it works just (Profanity is a sign of Maturity) great.
Whoops, this one failed on one.

I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

I may have restarted it. Did you try reloading?
Ah...
Ah...
Well, I'll restart it and see what I can do. Anyone messing with inordinate amounts of BBCode? We didn't used to have this problem, and the daemon often ran for weeks.PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 38 bytes) in /home/jbarbero/faf/TagParser.php on line 205 Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 32 bytes)

a few smiles here and there
freen tried
and it didnt work
there was some rather heavy testing of the word filter
mostly just text, and there were only four of us in there.. I was using the WOA admin account, as I dont currently have one of my own
I'm guessing the chat should clear its cache after a while? you 'only' gave it 8 megs, but for a mostly text chat..

No, PHP gave it 8 megs by default. But I know what the problem is. The bbcode_parse() function used to create a new tag parser object at each invocation. This was sensible for things like messages.php and such, as they're invoked only once for a short time. But for a longer-running piece of code, it creates a new tag parser for every single message! So naturally it hit the limit (previously, in PHP4 there probably wasn't a limit, but this is PHP5). So I changed that and it should work now.

i tried it and no one would chat with me
all about FAVRE, come on...you know you want to click it
The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.
