You need to edit the config.php file with your server information. It appears that the username/password/db settings are incorrect.

i was wondering, is there a way to operate the game without SMTP, as most free hosts disable this?

Not as is, but it would appear to be possible. If you integrate this script and get a provider from this list, it should be possible. It's not integrated into the release, though, so it would require some coding. Any instances of mail() would need to be changed to authSendEmail() and you'd need to include() the SMTP Auth Email script somewhere in index.php (maybe funcs.php would suffice).

I would recomend http://bittraffic.com/ for hosting since it is really cheap and well worth it.

Aye, exactly. If you don't have the ability to integrate the above script, then it's best to find a different free host.

Ok, I've finally had a chance to look at the following suggestion
Not as is, but it would appear to be possible. If you integrate this script and get a provider from this list, it should be possible. It's not integrated into the release, though, so it would require some coding. Any instances of mail() would need to be changed to authSendEmail() and you'd need to include() the SMTP Auth Email script somewhere in index.php (maybe funcs.php would suffice).
I understand the replacing of the instances of mail() and I've already started changing them, however, Im not 100% sure about how to include the SMTP Auth Email script into index.php....

Do I just copy and paste it into the file, using wordpad. If so, do I copy the entire script offered at the above link and where specifically in the code of index.php should i put it?

Or do I create a sepaarate file and put include(filename.php) in index.php

Thanks for your help
